Last week, we were very fortunate to get a sneak preview of 'Dream Cars: Innovative Design, Visionary Ideas' - an extraordinary temporary exhibition at the beautiful Indianapolis Museum of Art.
The exhibition examines the dream car through five themes: independent makers, the impact of styling, the Motorama and the rise of the dream car, the influence of automobile shows, and the role of concept cars today.
Of all the various car-related shows we've attended over the decades, this one is among the very best. It's hard to even imagine what was involved to pull together such a collection of truly legendary and unique cars. Even more remarkable is that, in most cases throughout this exhibition, the cars shown are literally the only ones in existence.
The Museum and it's grounds are extensive and beautiful, allowing those that might not be as inspired by cars to find some other forms of inspiration. For fans of the broader scope of industrial design, the contemporary design collection is equally as remarkable, walking visitors through decades of innovative product design
The Dream Cars exhibition will be on display through August 23rd.Read More
